Wesgar has expanded its welding department by 60% to meet customer needs and upgraded to a custom-built smoke extraction system. To accommodate this growth, Wesgar has expanded its team of welders to 20; these welding experts operate Wesgar’s ten welding tables and two welding robots seven days a week to ensure customer orders are processed efficiently and meet the highest quality standards.
“The expansion and extraction upgrade to our welding department provides us with the additional capacity needed to manage custom orders that require welding and to meet the demands of our growing customer base,” says Jeet Dhanda, Production Manager. “We operate MIG and TIG welding stations, as well as two Fronius multi-process systems and two robotic stations that allow us to handle all welding needs in-house, saving time on every project.”
Having internal welding services within its plant allows Wesgar to deliver integrated services under one roof to its clients, which improves quality and accelerates the production process. Having the ability to handle all sheet metal, machining, and copper bus bar fabrication at its large Port Coquitlam plant is an essential component of the value Wesgar offers to its clients.
Wesgar’s is committed to the health and safety of all its employees. To ensure the safe extraction of the welding department’s harmful metal fume and gas by-products, its new and more robust extraction system was custom-designed to meet Wesgar’s specific needs; it will meet Wesgar’s growth and keep welders safe.
