Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of production workers whilst maintaining a safe environment and high-quality products
  • Plan and schedule the timely completion of jobs, maximize productivity and efficiently utilize resources, equipment and materials
  • Assign, direct, review and monitor the work of the team to ensure jobs are completed on time, the required standards are met and compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Provide technical assistance for the setting up and production
  • Give daily direction on work activities, answer questions and provide advice to the production workers
  • Daily reporting and tracking of jobs, together with monitoring the issue and ordering of materials
  • Continuously review production methods, recommend and implement process improvements
  • Provide training and evaluate the performance of the team

 Experience:

  • Grade 12 minimum or equivalent
  • At least 3+ years working in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Experience in metal fabrication
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Experience in using MS Office

 

LOCATION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement welding schedules to meet project deadlines and production targets. Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of welding tasks.
  • Monitor and evaluate welding processes to optimize efficiency, quality, and productivity. Implement improvements and adjustments as necessary to enhance performance.
  • Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that welded products meet specified standards and specifications. Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality requirements.
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Manage welding resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel, to ensure optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including weld procedures, inspection reports, and compliance documentation. Prepare regular reports on welding performance, including productivity, quality, and safety metrics.
  • Collaborate with welders and designers to develop welding procedures, resolve technical issues, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Provide training and mentorship to welding staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Identify and address welding-related problems and challenges, such as defects, material issues, and equipment malfunctions. Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to minimize disruptions and delays.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Senior Welder.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising welding crews.
  • Certification in welding inspection desirable.
  • Extensive experience in welding operations, including various welding processes such as TIG and MIG.
  • Strong understanding of welding codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Proficiency in computer applications
